Is Delta-8 Legal in Alaska?

No. Although industrial hemp isn’t currently legal, the Department of Natural Services (DNR) released a draft concerning the legality of industrial hemp regulations in 2019… So this might change relatively soon.

In fact, as a federally legal substance, hemp is permitted in most states. That wasn’t always the case. The Controlled Substances Act of 1970 categorized hemp as an illegal substance, but the 2018 Agricultural Improvement Act (otherwise known as the Farm Bill) changed that when it passed. Hemp and hemp-derived products are federally legal if they contain no more than the legal limit of 0.3% THC. Marijuana (Delta-9) does not meet this requirement so it remains a controlled substance.

Is Delta-8 synthetic?

Delta-8 is naturally expressed in the hemp plant, but not in high concentrations or qualities. That means it must be synthesized from extracted CBD.

The government has banned many specific synthetic cannabinoids, but currently the Drug Enforcement Agency’s (DEA) has not labeled Delta-8 as a controlled substance. Make sure to check in from time to time as they update rules and regulations.

Will Delta-8 Show up on a Drug Test?

An understable concern for Delta-8 users is whether or not they will pass their drug tests. That answer depends on how much of this product is consumed, and how regularly.
